To apply, please go to www.applyweb.com/nsula/index.ftl and click on “Application for Admission to Graduate School, United States and International Students”. While you will be filling out the application for Spring 2020, the program is now actually beginning in Fall 2020. The Graduate School will manually move your application once you apply. If you do not see the MS in Computer Information Systems listed as a program choice, please choose “Other” and enter “597” for the major code. Once you apply, we have the following requirements: 1) Bachelor’s Degree from Regionally Accredited College/University 2) Official Transcripts from All Colleges/Universities Attended 3) Two Letters of Recommendation 4) One of the following: a. Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 OR b. Minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.5 and one of the following: i. GRE Score of 280 (verbal plus quantitative) or equivalent GMAT score OR ii. Two to three-page essay on experience in information systems field and why the student is an appropriate fit for the Northwestern State Computer Information Systems program. Format should be Times New Roman, 12-point font, 1-inch margins, and APA style. Meeting the above requirements will allow you entry into the program. Please do be aware that some of the graduate courses do have prerequisites/competencies. The general competencies include basic programming knowledge, basic hardware/networking knowledge, basic database systems knowledge, and basic statistics knowledge. Depending on the choice of a particular class, you may also need either intermediated/advanced programming knowledge or intermediate/advanced networking knowledge.
